KACI VANMETER (she/her)
K-6 Art/PE/SEL Teacher
Ms. Kaci was born in North Texas, and moved to Las Vegas in 2017 to be closer to family. She holds a Masters in Art Education from Western Michigan University with a specialization in social-emotional learning in the classroom. She also proudly achieved a bachelor's degree in K-12 Art Education from University of North Texas.
Ms. Kaci previously spent 2 years teaching K-5 art, and 3 years teaching 5-8 art.
She believes that the typical, modern classroom is structured for a-typical students. She is passionate about creating a space where both a-typical and neurodivergent students alike can thrive and build SEL skills in a safe space. She struggled with learning in a 'one-size fits all' environment in public schools, and strives to create a better and more meaningful experience for her students.
In regards to this school year, she hopes to help build a culture of respect and open-mindedness amongst her peers and students. She also hopes to watch her students grow as well-rounded individuals who feel proud of their identity, and strength in their experiences and emotions.
Outside of school she loves cuddling with her cats, going on date-nights to the drive-in, painting, taking photos, and hanging out with her younger half-brother. She's also passionate about mental health, listening to audiobooks (memoirs specifically), and always working on herself.
