Drawing inspiration from impactful teachers in her own past, Miriam aspires to be a transformative force in the lives of her students. With three years of experience as a teacher assistant, she is excited to create a positive and engaging classroom in Las Vegas, where she was proudly born and raised.
Beyond her teaching role, Miriam leads a fulfilling life as a first-time mom to her one-year-old daughter, Zoey, and finds solace in exploring her spirituality through reading and music. Her primary goal for the school year is to provide a loving and safe environment for her students to learn and grow, fostering curiosity and creativity. Born and raised in Georgia, Ms. King's educational journey led her to a Bachelor's degree from Berry College and a Masters from the University of West Georgia, both in Elementary Education. With four years as a 5th grade teacher in Georgia and two years teaching 4th grade in Las Vegas, and serves as our remarkable 4-7 POD leader.
Ms. King's passion for teaching stems from her love of learning. Witnessing her students overcome challenges and achieve growth brings her immense joy. She instills in them the belief that with determination, they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.
Beyond the classroom, Ms. King enjoys binge-watching shows, spending time with friends, and reading books. She's a devoted fan of musicals and an avid traveler.
Her ultimate hope for this year is to see her students thrive, learn significantly, and feel prepared for their journey into middle school.

As a native Spanish speaker, Mr. Villasana sees bilingualism as a strength, aiming to empower his students through inclusive education.
