LOTTERY PRIORITY
Battle Born Academy is a free, public school open to all students in Nevada regardless of language spoken, FRL status, past academic performance, or any special needs. We welcome all students and believe every student can thrive in our environment.
When completing the application, you will be asked information regarding the applying student's siblings, the primary address of the student, and the current/zoned school the child is attending or would be zoned to attend. Each of these questions corresponds to a group given priority in our annual lottery and is OPTIONAL to respond.
Answering any question related to these priorities is optional and may increase, though does not guarantee, your child's chance of admission.

- Children of Employees and/or the Board of Directors of Battle Born Academy - In order to be eligible, the child must have at least one parent or guardian with full or partial custody who is employed by Battle Born Academy or currently a sitting member of the Board of Directors. Employees for the upcoming school year must already have signed their offer and/or contract for their child to be eligible for preferential enrollment.
- Siblings - In order to be eligible, the child must have at least one sibling currently enrolled/attending Battle Born Academy. Siblings are defined as the full or half sibling, step-sibling, or the child of the parent/carer’s partner. If a sibling is enrolled in the same lottery window, the child does become eligible for preferential enrollment.
- Students from Overcrowded Schools - In order to be eligible, the student must currently attend and/or be zoned for an overcrowded school. Overcrowded will be defined as exceeding 100% capacity.
- Students from Underperforming Schools - In order to be eligible, the student must currently attend and/or be zoned for an underperforming school. Underperforming will be defined as one star and two star schools under the Nevada School Performance Framework.
Answering any question related to these priorities is optional and may increase, though does not guarantee, your child's chance of admission.
Waitlist
If more students apply for any given grade than seats are available, a lottery will be conducted. Once each spot is filled, students will be placed on a waitlist. If seats become available, students will be pulled off the waitlist in order. Families will be informed about their status on the waitlist and will be updated regularly. The parent/guardian of the student may inquire as to their student's exact position on the waitlist by emailing [email protected].
Board-Approved ENrollment Policies
All policies related to enrollment, the lottery, and the waitlist have been approved by the Board of Directors. The full policy is available here.
