Battle Born Academy is hiring for the 2023-2024 school year! We are excited to welcome phenomenal new staff members to the BBA team! Battle Born may be the place for you if you're looking for a supportive, collaborative environment where teachers are trusted to drive instructional decision making and given the resources and support to achieve ambitious outcomes. Our project-based approach allows teachers to get creative alongside their children and build a classroom full of joy and exploration for students. We are accepting applications on a rolling basis and encourage candidates to apply immediately, as roles may be filled. 

Hiring Process
We conduct multi-stage interviews, beginning with the application and moving into interviews, applicant activities, and a sample teaching experience. We do ask for references at the application stage but generally do not contact references until the final stages of the process. • School Year 2022-2023 Calendar - The calendar for the 2022-2023 school year is set. Features of our calendar include early-out Wednesdays for students and a fall, winter, and spring break. You'll find that our compensation is at or above the level of surrounding district and charter schools and we're committed to both steady, predictable pay increases and consistently revisiting our base rates to ensure we stay competitive. 

Coming from out of state? You might be excited to learn that Nevada has no income tax and we offer an employer-only public retirement program, meaning more money in your pocket each month!

In addition, there are lots of opportunities for increased pay and increased responsibility. From within the classroom, folks can become Pod Leaders or Instructional Coaches (Year 2+), take on clubs/organizations/extra duty, or more. There will also be pathways to school leadership as we grow the school over the next several years.

A lot of schools talk about sustainability/wellness for educators, but we walk the walk. At Battle Born Academy, you can count on:

• Daily Prep Time - teachers have a duty-free lunch and nearly two hours of daily prep time. You need time and space to do the important work of teaching.
• Work only your contract hours - Close your computer and walk away from work when your contract ends! We don't expect night or weekend grading and we give you time to plan and collaborate during the work day.​ PD days between grading periods give time to wrap up grading and plan ahead without burdening breaks and weekends.
• Weekly staff Wellness activities - Each Wednesday, when students leave early, we offer an optional on-campus wellness activity - yoga, dance, meditation, painting, and maybe even the occasional massage. 
• Multiple Mid-year Breaks - with our schedule, students have a two-week break between trimesters. Teachers get a full-week break, followed by a week of professional development and curriculum planning. In the Spring, we repeat the same between Trimester 2 and 3. And don't forget the two-week winter break!
